[2006] EWCA Crim 2833

The circumstances that surrounded the possession of a prohibited firearm by a single mother-of-three, who immediately admitted the offence and named the owners, were sufficiently exceptional to warrant a departure from the mandatory minimum sentence of five years' imprisonment.
