A sentence of 18 months' imprisonment was appropriate for a Chief Executive who had made false or reckless statements regarding his company which had resulted in significant losses to many investors, but an order that he pay the prosecution costs was inappropriately punitive and the 10-year period of disqualification from acting as a director was reduced to seven.
