[2013] EWCA Crim 448

A total sentence of six months' imprisonment was not manifestly excessive following an animal rights activist's pleas of guilty to dangerous driving and using offensive behaviour with intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress. Although the defendant had no previous convictions, her actions had exposed the drivers of livestock vehicles and other road users to serious risk, and an immediate custodial sentence was justified.
