[2006] EWHC 2352 (Admin)

Whilst it was possibly open to the court by way of judicial review to order that a police investigation be discontinued on the basis that there was no prospect of an eventual prosecution, such relief would only be granted in exceptional cases. In the circumstances, a police investigation was reasonable and justifiable.
