From student to pupil: how to sell yourself to chambers

Any glimpse at the statistics for obtaining pupillage is enough to give you a nosebleed. In a pool of fabulously talented students, even well-qualified applicants will struggle to secure pupillage. That, coupled with a paucity of places, will mean most are in for disappointment. However, there is room for hope. As with everything worthwhile, great effort, skill—and a bit of luck—are required to shine both on your CV and during interview. Here are a few tips to maximise your chances of standing out and getting chambers to run after you.
