Where a summons disclosed only the date of an alleged offence and a date that it had been printed that was outside the limitation period, it could not be ascertained from the face of the summons that an Information concerning a road traffic offence had been laid in time. Since there was doubt as to whether or not the Information had been laid in time the magistrates' court had had no jurisdiction to hear the matter.
