Consultation on the proposed closure of courts in the London area

PUBLISHED July 17, 2015

The Ministry of Justice has published proposals on closing a number of courts nationwide. Within the London area, the criminal courts affected are Greenwich, Richmond, Waltham Forest, Tottenham and Feltham.
As we understand, Richmond is no longer in use for criminal matters and Waltham Forest only deals with road traffic cases. We would like to hear from our members as to your views on these proposed closures which in turn will inform our response. It is likely the MOJ plans will throw up local issues in each instance of which the association may not be aware.
The consultation closes at 5pm on 8th October and any feedback from members should be addressed to Tony Meisels by e- mail tmeisels@lewisnedas.co.uk . The consultation can be found by following the link below

Please also feel free to comment if you wish on the proposals for courts outside London.
