[2001] EWCA Crim 2406

A sentence of six years' detention in a young offender institution for an offence of robbery committed with a machete and an axe was unduly lenient for a defendant who had pleaded not guilty and was quashed and substituted with a term of seven years. A co-defendant who had lost his nerve at the last minute had been appropriately sentenced to four years for the same offence given his guilty plea and his previous convictions.
