This week members of the LCCSA Committee met with the those coordinating efforts to introduce the Digital Case File (‘DCF’). The objective of DCF is introduce a uniform system for handling cases and will eventually be rolled out across all police forces and the CPS. This not new software and is an attempt better structure data the police and CPS already hold.  We have been asked to share the attached briefing note and slides.

The changes anticipated are summarised in the note. It will take some time for DCF to be instituted and the roll out will be gradual. We do not anticipate major changes to our experience in dealing with the police and CPS when DCF is rolled out.
