Australians try to tempt Britain's bobbies off home beat

There was a time when the principal British exports to Australia were criminals, social undesirables and troublemakers. Some 200 years later, Australians are returning to the mother country to seek a new breed of migrants - police.

South Australia's police want experienced, serving British officers to patrol the streets of Adelaide and smaller towns in the state. Already more than 1,000 British officers have expressed an interest via e-mail.
