Why prison uniforms are a bad idea

From the bright orange flash of a Guant?namo jumpsuit, to Johnny Cash singing about the stripes around his shoulders, prisoners' uniforms have aways had a powerful impact. Now Chris Grayling wants to bring them back, insisting that all convicted male prisoners must wear prison-issue clothes for the first two weeks of their sentence, as part of a raft of proposals to avoid jail being seen as a "soft touch".
