There was overwhelming evidence that the first and second defendants had intended to injure the claimant local authority by imposing upon it a liability in respect of asylum seekers that, but for their actions, would not otherwise have been undertaken or accepted. Accordingly, the local authority was entitled to recover damages against each of the conspirators in connection with that conspiracy.
