The integrity of a trial had been compromised and the verdict rendered unsafe through the trial judge's failure to read and immediately disclose in open court the contents of a juror's letter that had been addressed to him, in which the juror expressed an opinion, before the closure of the prosecution case, that the prosecution's case had already been proved.
