In the circumstances, it was appropriate to reduce sentences imposed for conspiracy to rob and conspiracy to have a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence. A sentence imposed for possessing a prohibited weapon and possessing ammunition without a firearm certificate had been suitable and it was inappropriate to reduce the sentence to ensure that the offender avoided becoming liable to deportation as such a factor was irrelevant when sentencing.
