R V SHEFFIELD JUSTICES, EX PARTE BROADHURST (2000)

PUBLISHED October 26, 2000
SHARE

In determining whether a person had culpably neglected to pay council tax and/or community charge, justices were required to make separate enquiries and separate findings in respect of each liability order faced by that person. The power to remit the amount owing should be considered before consideration was given to the issue of imprisonment.
