In an appeal against conviction for offences of obtaining money transfers by deception, as a result of the judge's misdirection to the jury and his error in introducing defence evidence which the appellant had no intention of relying on, the Court of Appeal had no alternative other than to regard the conviction as unsafe and accordingly it was quashed.
