R v PAUL STEPHEN LYONS (2000)

PUBLISHED March 24, 2000

A conviction for prison mutiny of one of a number of prisoners involved in a prison riot was safe where the judge's decision not to allow the cross-examination of the prison officer witnesses about why other prisoners had not been charged or dealt with in the same way as the offender was well within his discretion, as such evidence was irrelevant.
