A judge's directions to the jury regarding the retrievability of indecent images of children that had effectively been deleted from a computer should have been crafted in accordance with the guidance laid out in R. v Porter (Ross Warwick) [2006] EWCA Crim 560, [2006] 1 W.L.R. 2633.
