There was no reason to believe verdicts of guilty were reached by reason of partiality or bias on the part of the jury foreman or the jury as a whole where the female foreman, after the verdicts had been delivered, had communicated with leading counsel for the prosecution, sending him champagne and inviting him for dinner. The verdicts were unanimous and there was ample evidence justifying those verdicts.
