[2011] EWCA Crim 1716

The summary offence of being in charge of a dog that was dangerously out of control in a public place contrary to the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 s.3(1) did not fall within the jurisdiction of the Crown Court. Where a jury had returned a conviction on that offence, it having been left to them as an alternative, that conviction had to be quashed.
