On the evidence at the close of the prosecution's case, which included powerful evidence of dangerous driving, a trial judge had been entitled to permit the case to go to the jury. Also, there was no arguable reason that the offender's conviction for causing death by dangerous driving might be unsafe because of a lies direction given.
