Where a hostile witness reverted to his original account it was open to the jury to rely on the readopted version, although that witness' credibility could be adversely affected. It was sometimes appropriate to edit interviews and statements to remove references to co-defendants where the editing did not effect the evidence as a whole and where it was possible to agree the nature and extent of the omissions prior to the evidence being given.
