[2013] EWHC 1399 (Admin)

A Crown Court had erred in not granting a defendant an extension of time to lodge an appeal against sentence for fines totalling £22,000 following his guilty pleas to multiple offences of breach of planning control. The fines were substantial and, given that his means were stretched, a potential appeal was not hopeless.
