[2004] EWHC 1920 (Admin)
A police officer who had been permanently disabled from performing his ordinary duties as a police officer by a chronic depressive illness had not received that injury in the execution of his duty. The time he had spent in attempts to return to work following a period of suspension had not been time spent on duty, as the mere fact that a police officer remained an officer and was not suspended could not put him on duty.
