Parliament had not provided for a fixed time limit in the Extradition Act 2003 s.8A(2) within which an extradition hearing postponed under s.8A was to begin, nor did it provide for automatic discharge. Section 8(6) of the Act did not impose an obligation to fix a date for an extradition hearing the moment the time limit identified in s.8A(2) had expired.
