Community support officers have only marginally helped fight crime and anti-social behaviour, a new report has claimed.

The Home Office interim study identified "limited evidence" of success by CSOs on Britain's streets since their introduction more than two years ago.
The Home Office said CSOs complement and bolster the work of fully-fledged police officers.
