Where a local authority applied in the course of care proceedings for disclosure by the police of a DNA comparison analysis relating to the children subject to the care proceedings, any report prepared as a consequence of a DNA matching exercise would be caught by the provisions of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 s.64(1B)(b) and would represent information derived from a sample for the purposes of that provision.
