Legal aid cuts have forced people who cannot afford advice to endure "sheer human misery", a group of more than 100 law professionals have warned.The next government must restore aid to those who need it, they said, claiming reforms have had a knock-on effect on prisons, the legal profession and created "disarray" in courts.In a letter to the Guardian the group said: "Without access to justice for all, inequalities take on a more dangerous edge which threatens the legitimacy of not just the justice system but our democracy."
