An employment tribunal had correctly decided, following a finding of procedural unfair dismissal, that an award of compensation should be reduced by 100 per cent in accordance with Polkey to reflect the finding that if a fair procedure had been in place an employee would have been dismissed. In investigating the misconduct of an employee, an employer was not required to carry out a police style investigation.
