In circumstances where a receiver and manager was appointed under the Criminal Justice Act 1988 to receive and manage a defendant's property and incurred costs and expenses in doing so, she did not bear that cost and expense when the defendant was subsequently acquitted by the Crown Court and awarded his costs of defence out of public funds.
