Extradition to face life sentence without possibility of parole

It would not be a violation of the prohibition against inhuman and degrading treatment, contained in article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights, for the United Kingdom to extradite defendants to stand trial in the United States of America for offences which, on conviction, would put them at risk of being sentenced to life imprisonment without parole.
