I've noticed the letters on solicitors adopting the title of 'doctor'. I can see the benefit - not only to align us with our European counterparts, but to create a new distinction between professional lawyers and our assistants in the grandiosely titled Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. I am sure all members have witnessed the lengths these colleagues go to be mistaken as solicitors.
