Deporting convicted EEA nationals

When deciding whether the removal of a European Economic Area (EEA) national who had acquired a permanent right of residence in the United Kingdom was justified on serious grounds of public policy or public security the Home Secretary could not take into account wider factors such as the public interest in deterring crime or the need to demonstrate public revulsion at an offender’s conduct.
