Confessions of a Barrister: inside the secret world of the Bar

A survey published earlier this year no doubt demolished a few illusions about the august world of the Bar. A surprising proportion of barristers, it found, take cocaine and other Class A drugs — sometimes at their desks in chambers. This in a climate in which a quarter of practising lawyers admit to substance abuse — chiefly cocaine, Ecstasy and marijuana — often to alleviate stress.
