Recruiting community support officers is to be speeded up, David Blunkett is to announce as he makes law and order central to Labour's election manifesto.

Mr Blunkett already plans to have 25,000 of the CSOs, aimed at fighting nuisance behaviour, by 2008.
But he will tell the Labour party conference he is spending £50m more to sign them up at least six months early.
