A strong recovery in commercial legal services in Birmingham has led to a dramatic increase in demand for lawyers in the UK's second legal services centre.
Vacancies registered with recruitment agencies in the first quarter of 2014 were up 49% on the same period last year for commercial property and real estate lawyers.
The demand for corporate and finance lawyers was 33% higher. Rebecca Barry, operations director at recruiter eNL, told the Gazette that 70% of mid-sized firms are looking to expand in 2014.
