"Forced marriage is a crime. The police service is committed to doing all we can to protect victims and bring offenders to justice; we have developed our knowledge and expertise in this area to enable us to do this.

"However, we know that this crime is underreported and many victims and potential victims find it difficult to approach the police directly. The Freedom app makes it easier for young people who could be at risk to get advice and reach out to the police and other agencies that can help them."
