It was for the trial judge to gauge the strength of the warning to be given to the jury as to consequences of delay by complainants in making complaints. In the instant case, given the large number of contemporary documents, the judge could not be criticised for failing to single out particular instances where the absence of evidence might have prejudiced the appellant.
