For the exemption contained in the Goods Vehicles (Licensing of Operators) Regulations 1995 Sch.3 Part II para.2, which obviated the requirement to have an operator's licence under the Goods Vehicles (Licensing of Operators) Act 1995 s.2 where the person was engaged in agricultural work, to apply there had to be a direct contractual relationship between the occupier of a farm and the person employed to do agricultural work on the farm.
