The Human Rights Act 1998 was not of retrospective effect and it preserved the sovereignty of Parliament. Therefore evidence could not be excluded as being unfair when there had been lawful compliance with an Act of Parliament at the time of a trial. * Leave to appeal to the House of Lords granted.
