[2009] EWCA Crim 1261
A deterrent sentence of 14 years' imprisonment was appropriate where a member of the armed forces serving abroad in the context of an active and continuing conflict communicated to another person information that was calculated to be or might or was intended to be directly or indirectly useful to an enemy. The sentence properly reflected the element of intended betrayal.
