The potential consequences of an employee's negligent breach of his contract of employment could be sufficiently serious to render his summary dismissal fair, notwithstanding that the breach had no actual consequences for his employer. An employment tribunal had to give such serious potential consequences sufficient weight when determining whether the employee's dismissal was unfair or wrongful.
