Within the last 2 years the Government has made an enormous amount of changes in this area, and has shaken up the benefits available to applicants. Whether these changes will provide financial savings for the Government make the application process less laborious is yet to be seen.

Biography
Cecilia Goodwin is a criminal defence solicitor who has specialised in defending individuals accused of committing benefit fraud for the last 7 years. She has presented numerous lectures on the topic and continues to represent individuals at Interviews conducted by Department of Work and Pensions and Local Borough investigative officers as well as appearing at the Magistrates and Crown Courts in this area of law. She also advises and represents applicants appearing before Social Security Tribunals to appeal against the withdrawal of benefits and recovery of overpayments.
