Stores face ban for selling drink to children

Supermarkets that sell alcohol to under-age drinkers could lose their right to sell drink under new powers available to police, one of Britain's leading chief constables has warned.

Ken Jones, who is currently the chief constable in Sussex but will next year become the president of the Association of Chief Police Officers, said new powers planned for November would be used to punish high street food chains that flouted the law.
