An independent review of race relations in Scotland[base ']s police service was launched yesterday following the revelation of serious incidences of racism in forces in England.

The Commission for Racial Equality in Scotland has commissioned the exercise with the backing of the Scottish Executive and the co-operation of all eight forces.
