[2012] EWCA Crim 2624

A sentence of three-and-a-half years' detention imposed on a 17-year-old offender who had had a severely disrupted childhood, following his plea of guilty to three offences of robberies at small shops, was not unduly lenient. Although the offences were aggravated, and two had involved the use of an imitation firearm, he had never previously committed any significant offences and there had been no component of aggression or violence to others in his long-running disruptive behaviour.
