[2010] EWCA Crim 381

A sentence of five years' imprisonment imposed on an offender following his guilty plea to an offence of arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered was not manifestly excessive. The offender had started a fire in his semi-detached house when drunk, and in the circumstances the seven-and-a-half-year starting point taken by the judge was not too high.
