The wording of the Criminal Appeal Act 1995 did not preclude the Criminal Cases Review Commission from making more than one reference to the Court of Appeal from convictions, verdicts or findings from a single trial. Equally the Court of Appeal had the power to adjourn the hearing of an appeal if practical matters so required.
