[2013] EWCA Crim 95

A sentence of three years' imprisonment for five counts of theft on an offender who had hired vehicles which were not returned to their hire companies and never recovered was not excessive. The loss to each of the small companies involved was a considerable blow to their operation, and there were aggravating features in that the offender had an appalling criminal record and had been on licence at the time of the offences.
