For the purposes of establishing a conspiracy to commit an offence of assisting another to retain the benefit of crime, it was sufficient for the Crown to prove suspicion, as opposed to actual knowledge, on the part of one defendant that the other was engaged in criminal conduct, and it was not an offence to which the exclusion in the Criminal Law Act 1977 s.1(2) applied.
